Believe me or not, in heart I have kept you all updated. I really have. I've thought out words to you all in hospitals, while climbing a jungle path, while driving on long trip after long trip, while sitting with friends in small huts, while giving baby baths and mixing countless bottles of milk, while snuggling with small children, while sitting knee-to-knee with patients, and alone on a much needed mountain-top Sabbath. I've wanted to share all this. And more. I've thought out words when I collapsed into bed and debated on whether to record them, but always sleep won out.
But somehow none of those words ever made it onto paper or computer screen. Life these last several months has been as crazy as I've ever known it. And now that life is slowing down in minimal increments I've been contemplating how to break the silence. (And break through this ridiculous writer's block.)
I've missed most of the details, but really, I think four words sums it all up.
God has been faithful. Unfailingly and unwaveringly so.
But a few of the more specific highlights of the last couple months have been:
Getting my year-long volunteer visa - a complete God story.
New friends and volunteers here at our school.
Our newest itty-bitty, cute and squalling thing(s)! (Blogpost to follow.)
My family's return! * Praise God from whom all blessings flow. . . ! *
Jabez turning one-year-old. . . Still trying to get used to my "big" boy. :) They said time would fly and I guess they were serious! He's wildly active. And I'm more certain than ever that he's destined to be a mountain climber at some level or other. . .
And, I don't know if you read my blog or not, but I also want to say a very big thank-you to the people who took it upon themselves to gather and donate the perfect number of cloth diapers! :) They are being used and greatly appreciated! Somehow, though, I just never pictured myself being so excited over diapers. :)
Sara, I'm sorry that I unintentionally deleted your comment.:) Very glad to hear from you!:)
